The simple fact of the matter is that the Prequel Trilogy ruined Darth Vader: he went from being the imperious man in black to a whiny teenage Frankenstein even the Emperor only tolerated being around.
I didn’t think it necessary to review Rogue One (my attitude is mostly that it was OK, but not great), but I do think it necessary to applaud the film for reviving what’s become an otherwise namby-pamby image of the Dark Lord.
