Quirky, responsive redesign meets WordPress-style ease-of-use to empower literary editors.
A Bad Penny Review Editor in Chief Johnny Damm recruited me to redesign his quarterly journal. I worked with visual designer Catherine Bergen on the new look, with the goal of bringing out the journal’s quirky style.
With the new WordPress installation, Johnny’s editors are able to upload articles into issues on the fly. The Dashboard is specially designed to make it extremely easy for editors to put together new issues with only text and photography assets. We also paid attention to how poetry and other literature with unique formatting requirements behaves on mobile, resulting in a platform that’s as performant as it is pretty to look at.
