Technology entrepreneurs Matt Devost and Bob Gourley of OODALoop needed an overhaul of their news organ which has been responsible for keeping C-suite executives informed on advanced technology, intelligence, and security issues for over two decades.

OODALoop’s WordPress rebuild accommodates an archive of more than 100,000 posts and a Memberful integration for premium subscribers. Mailchimp supports email marketing and Ninja Forms handles web forms, bringing publishing, reader communication, and subscription access into the same website.

I rebuilt Kyle Ernst’s design around a long-established publication and its paid readership. Planning and carrying out the migration of more than 100,000 posts was central to the work, alongside interface development and preserving the connection between subscribers and the premium material they read.

Kyle Ernst created the visual design, and I rebuilt the site on WordPress. The key hurdle we had to jump over in the redesign was accomplishing a safe migration of a website with over 100,000 posts—twenty years of content!—while making sure the transition to the new site was seamless for its paid subscribers, who are served premium content through a light integration with Memberful.
