New England Baptist Hospital

Downtown Boston boutique agency Proper Villains approached me to develop the redesign for New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH). The website’s breadth of content was sweeping, and NEBH needed a WordPress theme that allowed them to populate many different layouts with the wide variety of content their existing site contained.

Proper Villains provided a visual design that translated well when I put together the new, highly modular theme. Nearly everything on the site is configurable by site administrators, from menus to visual styles to the actual page layouts. Using flexible content fields native to the theme (rather than a messy page-builder), site administrators are able to put together these layouts on the fly, no coding necessary. I also migrated NEBH’s database of doctors into WordPress and built a Find a Doctor tool with Ninja Forms that helps visitors determine the kind of care they need by clicking through a simple wizard.

New England Baptist Hospital’s new WordPress theme turns site administrators into unwitting visual designers.

I appreciate [his] perseverance and understanding through it all … we are indeed proud of the final product.
