STEAMpunks Boston

Jacqueline Gonzalez and I cofounded STEAMpunks Boston (STEM + the Arts thru Activism), a community arts group that brings creative professionals and local youth together in a live studio workplace to teach technology skills in web design, advertising, journalism, and digital arts. Jackie and I work with J. Patrick Brown and Beryl Lipton of Muckrock MuckRock, an open news tool powered by state and federal Freedom of Information laws to organize each quarterly “BUILD session,” which allows students to tackle real problems in the community by working one-on-one with designers, developers, and community advocates.

The website was a one-pager announcing the BUILD session, designed by a Guatemala-based visual designer Maria de la Riva.
