Zamawa Arenas at Flowetik hired me to consult with her on a long term project for the Children’s Trust, the Massachusetts Legislative Task Force on the prevention of child sexual abuse. They wanted to convert their 200+ page report on their guidelines for youth-serving organizations into a digital experience that would motivate these organizations into employing best practices learned in the field.
To this end, Flowetik and I guided the Task Force through a year-long content and digital strategy, which included hiring Bonnie Brunner to handle the visual design and a copywriter to rewrite the government report for the web.
I handled development, building a Gutenberg-powered WordPress installation that allows visitors to sign up and create their own customized version of the report based on a signup wizard that tracks their reading progress. We incorporated Mailchimp as a CRM and Sendgrid to whitelist communications, and prior to launch, performed an accessibility review with It’s Pulp to ensure the website could reach as diverse an audience as possible.
