The web is a medium for storytelling.
Let me help you tell yours.

Seventeen years ago…

I started working at digital agencies as a web developer. I was in grad school for traditional book publishing and knew enough about HTML to get a part-time job.

In 2014, I left the agency

…to go out on my own as a freelance web designer. Since then, I’ve helped mission-driven organizations, digital agencies, and B2B companies assemble surgical teams to solve digital problems.

But the Web is more than just technology.

It connects the ideas of billions across the globe. In 2026, I’m here to tell stories through that technology, whether that means writing code, teaching design thinking, or bringing clarity to complex systems.

I Use (Digital) Tools

Digital tools are just that: tools, the armaments we go to war with when we engage our creative thinking.

I like to go to war with the most armaments I can. I grew up with screeching dialup modems, glowing orange DOS terminals, floppy disks, and now-defunct Macromedia Flash, and have embraced everything that’s come my way, from Photoshop to Stable Diffusion.

More powerful tools buy us time to tell stories faster, at grander scope and at finer resolutions.

To Create (Evocative) Content

It would take a several lifetimes to master all the tools at our disposal. And while a jack of all trades is a master of none, that hasn’t stopped me from trying.

I like to partner with other experts who’ve dedicated their lives to grappling with creative problems: visual, UX, and motion designers; video and sound editors; content and digital strategists; front and backend engineers; photographers; accessibility experts; copywriters and marketing consultants—the list goes on.

But expertise brought together like this doesn’t perform well in siloes. We bring our experience to bear as a team.

That Tells (Human) Stories

People seek meaning, even the stories they’re told are the product of a craft that is synthetic:

  • A UX design narrates a user’s journey through a website, it’s about beginnings and endings.
  • A moodboard imagines a narrative where a product is compatible with a customer’s lifestyle.
  • A game mechanic tells a story about the sort of play you expect your players to experience.
  • A website is a perpetual palimpsest, written and overwritten to perfect a narrow message.
  • An interactive workshop is an exercise in collaborative storytelling about a common goal.

Storytelling as design thinking transforms content into experiences people remember.

Web Design

Websites are stories as systems. I help you translate complex ideas into practical experiences on the web, bringing together strategists from my network to build lasting foundations in an ever-shifting digital landscape. I offer custom design and development, accessibility testing, and managed hosting, alongside digital consulting services. For small businesses, I also offer productized WordPress themes, so your site remains resilient long after launch.

Narrative Design

Narrative design applies storytelling principles to real-world problems. Drawing from game design and other design thinking methodologies, I help individual entrepreneurs and mission-driven organizations shape meaning through creative consulting, developmental editing, and immersion workshops. I also create bespoke game utilities for game designers that formalize narrative intent into interactive systems.

Generative AI

Generative AI is most powerful when it serves human intention rather than novelty. I use AI systems to support iterative branding efforts and content production, as well as teach organizations how to build sustainable ecosystems using these tools. Through iterative branding, teams can rapidly develop coherent styles and dramatically scale creative output. I also work on AI ethics and policy development, consulting with organizations on the ethical, legal, and operational implications of adopting these tools.

Media Production

Media production is the executional work of turning raw material into something polished and publishable. I provide project management, content entry support, and the full spectrum of multimedia editing (image, sound, and video) to help teams assemble, refine, and deploy digital assets across web platforms. This often means tight coordination between team members, managing workflows, and integrating media into publishing pipelines.
