Advanced Old School Revival (OSR+) is the home of an indie tabletop roleplaying game I designed and developed alongside my co-creators David DeWitt, Jon Parsons, and Courtney Staples. The website is host to a complex character creator that allows users to create heroes for use in the roleplaying game, as well as home to the game’s core rules and a novel-length game master’s guide, which I wrote.
In addition to the interactive character creator, OSR+ features a full user registration system and integration with Stripe to handle premium subscriptions. The core rules are populated by external spreadsheets that feed the WordPress install its data via automated cron jobs. And it’s all built on a custom Gutenberg-powered WordPress theme, designed and developed by DQuinn.net.
